888Live Confirms Five Stops For 2019 And WSOP Sponsorship
888Live is one of the many live poker tours that have recently announced schedules for the New Year. This year, the 888Live poker tour is going to stop at exciting poker destinations such as Malta, Barcelona, Vienna, and London. It may also introduce a new stop to its existing schedule.
The poker operator has also confirmed that it has once again sponsor the World Series of Poker (WSOP).
888Live 2019 Tour Schedule
The 2019 888Live poker tour begins in February at the Aspers Casino of London with an event called the 888Poker LIVE London Kick Off. The next tour stop is in May, when the tour is scheduled to visit Barcelona. The other stops will be in the second half of the year with a stop at Malta and Vienna in October and a return to London to close the year.
888 has also re-introduced its Shot Clock and Big Blind Ante formats, which has become very popular in the poker community. The poker tour has not yet announced the complete schedule of events but has confirmed that the buy-ins are going to be very affordable.
Since 888 wants to make its 2019 tour the biggest, it may introduce an extra stop, but it has not yet confirmed this stop. Right now, players can look forward to five 888Live poker festivals.
Stops During First Half Of 2019
The tour will first visit the Aspers Casino at Westfield in Stratford, London and will remain there from Feb 7 to Feb 10. The Main Event will have a guaranteed prize pool of £120,000 and a buy-in of £440 which should help to bring in a decent playing field.
888 hopes that this stop will turn out to be a big one considering the fact that its last Main Event in London which was held in December 2018, attracted a playing field of 656 players that helped generate a prize pool just short of £650,000.
The tour will then stop at Casino Barcelona from May 22 to June 3. Last time, the €1,100 Main Event held in Barcelona had a player field of 709, which generated a prize pool as large as €709,000. The 2018 888LIVE Barcelona had 20 events and players can expect something similar this year as well.
Stops During Second Half Of 2019
The tour will take a summer break and then head over to Vienna’s Montesino Casino for the first time after two years. The 888Live Vienna Main Event will have a guaranteed prize pool of €300,000 and a buy-in of €888. In October, the tour makes it way to Malta to host the Battle of Malta. The 2018 Main Event had a buy-in of €550 and turned out to be the biggest live poker tournament in Malta. As many as 3,816 poker players participated in this event, generating a prize pool of up to €1.85 million.
Finally, 888poker LIVE will look to close out the year by returning to London in November. The stop will once again be at the Aspers Casino. Interested poker players can check the 888poker LIVE website for more details.
