I am the PFO bouncer. Sort of anyway all the mods are.

Like I said, that is how I deal with problems. I don't let them fester to the point they get out of control and things become irreconcilible(sp?) I would rather nip them in the bud and deal with the consequences, but leave the door open for resolution.

may not be the best way to accomplish your goals.

Why it was public:

1. It's a message to others to try to remember to not get out of hand. Hint hint slp.
2. If we didn't, others would make numerous threads demanding an explanation.

Wow,

This is pathetic, now you are threatening another poster.

If someone DEMANDS details simply say that he is aware of what the problem was and you don't discuss it publicly.

That is the professional way to do it.

Steve-O basically pushed bonch over the edge, as he has done to others in past, now you are publicly pushing other people.

I completely agree with that being a pretty pathetic post. Kid, you sound a power hungry dictator. We know you own the site, give it a rest...

But Beav, when has Steve "pushed others over the edge" in the past?

Wtf? Of course I'm going to threaten to ban people if they don't stop posting flameful posts and crap like slp posted a page or two ago. That's why we have FORUM RULES.

The rules aren't hard people. Don't troll or flame, don't spam.. that's pretty much it?

My .02...

1) Bonch's ceaseless arrogance and condenscending attitude wore pretty thin on me, at least. I know some of you "like" that about him. It's the sort of arrogance and flamery that's rampant on unmoderated message boards, and I sure wouldn't like to see this forum turn in that direction.

2). Another way to turn this board into a miasma of flame wars and insults is to make it a democracy. Don't believe me? Run a well-populated message board and make all decisions actionable by public decree. See how fast it deteriorates. We like to think that the majority of us are fair and dislike flame wars, but it's not true. It's why Jerry Springer has had such a long run.

3). Beavis, you cried foul when Steve-O interpreted your "new low" comment as a lack of respect, and then you pull the same act, wildly extropolating Kid's "hint hint." comment as a big threat. Hilarious.

to be honest, if i were a moderator i'd ban steveo for being such an elitist douche bag and thinking he's right on absolutely every issue, but hey thats why i'm not a mod
You can't blame kid for telling slp to calm down after these 2 posts.

As far as this. In the past we had the Helmuthpoker incident and also the guy that NoManner had to ban like 5 times. Both times almost every one of you wanted a full explanation on what happened and by keeping it private we were being pathetic and elitist.

Its a no win situation,

We ban spammers on the first offense and you all cheer us on, but when a regular gets out of line (maybe not in every members eyes but in enough that it is a problem that needs to be addressed) we are all nazi's.

Look at the flames Bonch has said about avi8tor in the past! And all of those remarks were secondhand.

this is not a penalty for an isolated incident
