Private messages and emails are a good way of warning people they are close to the line.

Making ultimatums in public just leads to battles of the ego and that's never pretty.

Mods should be left to mod and the feeling of the general board population shouldn't matter, but mods should avoid antagonising people as well.

Imagine how much shit I would have taken if none of the prior stuff was out in the open.

Rex, I was nice about it a couple of times in the past. I think it is right for the whole forum to see that if you act in a certain way it will not be tolerated. I don't want to have to deal with this issue in the future with others.

I am the most liberal mod on here, i let a lot go but, I will continue to call people out publicly if they are out of line.

This is a public forum there is no need to reply to peoples posts privately. I have done this before and it has turned out worse because the person is then free to retaliate without anyone knowing.

1st. I never said that.

2nd. you werent the only one to make reference to me wanting to be a mod.

3rd. why do you need to fire back

4th. why do you do it in a thread about bankroll?

How is me wanting to help an attack on the current moderators? I made a few jokes about "if I were a mod this would be gone" but it was a joking manner. Didn't think everyone was so thin skinned. I am truly sorry if any of the comments about me being a mod were taken as attacks. Marm works 24 hour shifts, No Manner and Kid rarely seem to be on, and No Manner isn't on at all anymore. I am sure you (Steve) have a life too.

From reading the BR thread it really look to me like you tried hijacking it - 1. about infinity and coins flips not applying to poker - 2. about bonches quality of posts (I really don't understand why those threats had to be a public challenge when we have PM) - 3 about my "campaign" to re-instate bonch when I never brought that topic up in that thread.

Bonch's one word posts got his point across to me. Why write a paragraph.

I have had problems with Bonch in the past, and even reported his improper moderating (me opininion) to Kid, and had him on my iggy list for months (doen't work with MODS). So it is not like I am rushing to defend him blindly like I may Marm or Gir if they were banned.

Wow.

Completely uncalled for. At least from the last 50 or so posts I reviewed of his.

Who are the mods you discussed this with? What were the "flame" posts?

My opinion of Steve-O has dropped to new lows.
I'm not going to get into a semantic arguement over this but, that is pretty derogatory. In my mind you have no respect for me

I agree with Irexes. Start threatening people publicly is just asking for battle of wills.

I already commented to why it was done publicly. That is the way I am. I am not a pull you aside, be your friend type of person.

If we got into a squabble in a bar I wouldn't try to talk to you or pull you aside, I would let you know you have 2 choices put up or shut up.

As a Mod i have to have a certain amount of authority. This is the first non-spammer I have banned and its only 3 days. i don't think I overstep my bounds.

Camon people we dont need a mutiny. Kid red and the mods own this site. IMo they can do as they please. banning a 14 year old for 3 days shouldnt cause all this. Im on bonch's side, but i can understand the mods being pissed at him.

Wow...I go to sleep for 9 hours and boom! Can't say I didn't think it would happen eventually though...

Although I think Kid sounds waaaay too communist in the poll thread, and I don't agree that it should have been closed, I have a ton of respect for the mods, especially Steve. I (along with others) voted him in as a mod and in doing so, said we trusted his judgement enough to make decisions like this.
Therefore, I will not say whether I agree or disagree with the decision, but again, I trust Steve's judgement and think everyone else needs to remember how he became a mod in the first place.

Good luck, but I think you are creating as many issues to deal with as you are solving. Modding is tough and you can never please everyone, sometimes it's best not to try.
