Kid, how is Bonch getting off easy with an uncalled for 3 day ban? What did he do wrong besides disagree with Steve-O? If a mod can ban a user for disagreeing with them, we have a problem. Take a look at Bonch's posts, show me 3 instances where he has made
"general troll and flame posts". Bonch's bannage is a result of Steve-O's anger, not Bonch's posts.

i don't think bonch deserved to be banned, after looking at his recent posts. but of course, it's not like i have substance most of the time either. wondering if i'm next on the banning list.

i understand what kid says about mods being mods and needing to run the site, but i also think there should be somewhere we can discuss decisions and give feedback, so i hope this thread isn't also closed. i think seeing the outcome of a poll would have been useful so everyone could get a feel for what was going on; the mods should know how we're feeling about this (after all, regular members don't want the site to go to shit either, so we won't let every idiot stay), and the regular members should be allowed to have some discussion. i'd like to see if beavis, rog, and i are the only ones who don't think bonch should have been banned; if we are, then maybe we're wrong, and i'd accept that. if bonch was offensive to the majority of the forum then fine, ban him.

closing discussion helps nothing except asserting the authority of the mods, and really, we know that.

i also didn't like how that poll was formed as a steve-o vs. bonch thing. it was like, pick one. either bonch stays or steve does. that was not the issue. the issue was whether steve-o's decision was correct, not whether we like him or bonch better. steve-o tends to make more insightful poker related posts than bonch lately, and his replies are far longer. i would hate to lose him as a member. but the issue wasn't whether i value steve's posts more or bonch's. the issue was whether bonch's banning was called for. the poll should have only been formulated as such.

i'd like to be allowed to get up a new poll to see what everyone's thinking on this cuz really, if he annoyed most of the board, then sure, ban him. but until i know that i don't think this ban is really called for.

It comes down to a straw that broke the camels back. It is like the Terrel Owens situation: was the last thing he did the worst??? No it was just the last straw.

It is the continual posts to just to post, or stir up controversy, these things sidetrack legit threads and are worse than spam in my opinion. people are here to learn and discuss, yes arguements occur (I am as guilty as anyone with arguing) and they are part of the discussion and color. Posts like:

this is wrong, do you see why?

Fixing grammar and punctuation mistakes

ridiculing bad grammar and spelling (these people could be foreign you know)

Quoting others and only posting, no, or errrr....

These things cause non poker arguements, which are bad. you want to argue if AQ should be raised or not, fine. you want to argue about grammar, go elsewhere.

If you have a point to make, make it. Don't use abstracts in attempt to ridicule people and give you a reason to flame them.
