    Default New Book Review up

Thanks to eclinchy for writing a book review for PFO of Small Stakes Holdem.

I have this book but haven't got to it yet.

book well worth reading and in my case re-reading and re-reading just to really grasp some of the more complicated concepts.

    very good review :good:

My only crticism of the review; I think the book is aimed at aggressive opponents, not always passive.

The book assumes some opponents with raise with A-high or second pair.

You can get in more trouble on passive tables.

its primarily aimed towards beating poor opponents and "crushing" SS - at what stage do u stop beating and begin crushing?

there are more than enough poor opponents playing at these limits for the book to be invaluable

its SS-opponents DO raise with A-high and second or bottom pair

aggressive or passive should not really matter as he hammers it home time and time again that you shouldnt get involved unless your play has +EV

    just my 2cents anyway

It is a great book, I am a be advocate of it, but even at the lost limits, most players arent as bad as the book assumes.

go for Hoh-i been thinking bout buying it so itd be good to get an idea as to its content first.

SS2-i dont think id bother reading a follow up to "be aggressive as hell and push with the worst hand but if ur me then ur prob gonna win".

SS2 has a lot more wisdom to share than you think... you only described about two of the hundreds of pages.

But no matter, I was leaning HoH anyway... I'll go ahead and do that one.
