Now that the server transfer has finished successfully, I can announce that PokerForums.org has been sold. The new owner is Hollowman, an experienced web entrepreneur like me, who runs another high profile poker site.
As many of you know, I am guilty of neglecting PFO for very long periods of time. This was mainly due to having too many projects going at once and simply not having enough time to focus on the site. I also had a diminishing passion for poker over the years, and since I don't like to work on projects that I am not passionate about, I felt it was time to find a new owner for the site.
Hollowman has plans to bring a lot of positive improvements to the site, but told me that apart from general improvements that things will stay pretty much the same as they are now.
I believe that he will be using the new design and upgrading to the vBulletin Suite as I had started, but most importantly he will be bringing a fresh passion and ambition to the site - something I lost with PFO many years ago.
I'm sure that he will make an introduction in this thread, so feel free to give him a warm welcome and ask him any questions you have.
And unless he has some sadistic plan to ban my account, I'll still be a member here and pop in from time to time to say hello. I've been a member here for 7 years, and plan to stay one.
Thanks everybody, and goodbye.

Welcome Hollowman!
I was aware of the sale for quite a while, long before I became a moderator. So I will do the best I can to continue to support PFO and you for as long as you'll have me.

Thanks Tyler!
Here is a quick intro about me:
I'm from Atlanta, GA. I've been playing poker since back before the UIGEA. I'd say I have a love/hate for poker, leaning more towards the love side since I can't seem to put the game down. Half way through college (yea I dropped out ;-) ) I put my passion for poker into developing websites. A few years of hard work later, here I am. Just like many of you here, I'm a part time player who is always looking to learn more about the game. I'll forever be a student to the game, and hope to learn a lot from everyone here. I'd be a lot better at it if I spent less time working and more time playing, but hey... that's not always the best way to pay the bills.
You guys won't notice many changes to the site at first. Going to be following through with the design update as Kid has mentioned in another thread. Although I'll be toning the green down a bit, hehe. Once that is finished I will be able to upgrade to the new forum software so we can all have blogs and other fun stuff like that. Aside from the visual changes I'll be working to make the forum a little more active.
For starters I think a March Madness bracket pool will be good. I'll work on getting a few prizes thrown into the mix.
In the future we can work on getting some regular games or league type play going.
I look forward to getting to know all of you. Looks like there is a pretty cool crew here that knows a lot about poker. Feel free to flame away!
For all the mods: I'd love to keep you guys all here to help and contribute.Last edited by Hollowman; March 5th, 2011 at 10:19 AM. Reason: I can't type

Wow! Not what I was expecting to see on here when I logged in... I mean congrats considering Tony G couldn't pry this site out of Tyler's hands

Could I inquire about your other website(s)?Read my musings on poker and life at PokerNewsBoy.com, and My Poker Blog

Kid, pity it took so many years of neglect before you realised you had nothing to contribute to PFO moving forward.
Hollowman, congrats on acquiring the site. You have your work cut out for you but you can only be an improvement on the previous owner assuming you show even the slightest bit of interest.
What other high profile poker site do you run?
A slight disappointment.....when I saw the thread title and saw that Steve was the last to have posted, my mind started working overtime for those few seconds before I read it.......For the best rakeback rates, greatest choice of poker rooms, more promotions, tournaments and bigger $$$ freerolls than any other rakeback affiliate, visit RakeTheRake, one of the largest and most reputable poker rakeback affiliates in the world.
