I am currently in negotiations with a poker coaching membership website (similar to CardRunners).
We discussed an integrated partnership together which would be very beneficial to both of us. We would promote their coaching program and possibly provide some forum integration, while they would in turn promote our forum and have their high limit professional players post on our forums.
We are also entertaining other ideas, such as offering private forums that are available to all members of the coaching program, in which users can get actual direct responses to their questions and analysis of their hands, etc. from the pros.
I won't disclose the names of the pros here just quite yet, but one of them is a well known pro that you've all seen on TV many times. The others are online pros who have won many large tournaments and play as high as $100-200 NL and $200-$400 NL.
We are still in negotiations in this, and it may be a bit of a slow and gradual process integrating together if we do go ahead with this, but this deal certainly has a lot of potential.
What do you think? Would you pay for special poker coaching videos and private access to a forum in which you can directly talk to the pros?

There are a lot of good coaching sites out there, as well as some good free forums. What would would make this site stand out from the rest?
I think you're on the right track and this forum really has some potential.
I really dislike the idea of a private forum though, I've seen a few and there is hardly any discussion going on. Maybe have an open forum and everything else be private?

I'm guessing he's talking about making a private sub-forum , not changing the whole forum to private . Maybe paying members can post and other members can only read , that would be nice .
As much as I'd love some one-on-one coaching to find and fix those leaks I'll have to exhaust all free articles/videos (gold member on pokerstrategy) first to get to a level where coaching is needed (or the only alternative). And currently I'm not on that level .Build a poker bankroll , get $50 free starting capital!

The private forums would be additional forums for members who subscribe to the coaching service.

That's pretty cool then, I probably wouldn't stick around if I had to pay. No offense meant at all, I just have a good amount of resources available to me.
I'm noticing there still seems to be a good influx of new players visiting the forum even now, giving this forum more of a focus on learning would be helpful to get more players involved here.

Hey buddy!
So you would be basically offering PFO as the free section to DeucesCraced/BlueFire/PokerVT/other-random-training-site's subscription forum? This would be a great deal as their would be a lot of crossover traffic from the "Member's Only Forum".Read my musings on poker and life at Online Poker Examiner, Poker Examiner, PokerNewsBoy.com, and My Poker Blog

PFO would essentially remain the same, with the option of subscribing to the coaching services run by this other company. Subscribers, in addition to having access to all the video coaching content, would also gain access to private forums where the pros (coaches) would be active.
They would post in the main PFO forums as well, as that would be part of the deal, but the private forums would take precedence.
