While it is easy to combat post spam, and especially new thread spam, it is not as easy to fight Private Messaging and E-mail (from the member profile pages) spam. This is obviously because the moderators are not aware that this is going on unless they are either PM'ed or E-mailed themselves or somebody reports the spam.

To help prevent Private Message and E-mail spammers, I have now made Private Messaging and E-mailing unavailable to new members of the forum. Now, you must be a Green Member or higher in order to have access to the Private Messaging and E-mailing system.

This should help cut down on Private Messaging and E-mail spam by 99%
