It's been a while since I've worked on PFO as I've been very focused and busy with my other online endeavours. However, that is still not an excuse to neglect the site.

Fortunately, I've been able to implement a few new features and improvements over the past couple days. Two of them were introduced to help combat scammers within the Money Transfers forum. The other improvement is more of a "treat"...

1. New "Green" Usergroup

PokerForums.org now has a new "Green" usergroup. Previously usergroups were classified as: Level 1, Level 2, etc. But due to their indescriptive nature I've changed the names of usergroups to colours, which reflect the color that the usernames are colored. The other groups are appropriately named black and green.

In order to be promoted to the Green usergroup, members must have 100 posts and have been registered for 30 days. Both of these requirements must be met in order to be promoted to the green usergroup.

The Money Transfers forum is now restricted to members who are of the Green usergroup or higher. Thus, in order to be able to post, members must have been a member on the site for at least 30 days and have at least 100 posts. Members who are not able to post will still be able to view the forum and threads, however.

It is important to note that this will not eliminate scamming, and we still do not endorse or moderate money transfers. However, we want to protect our members as best we can and so this new prerequisite should definitely reduce the amount of scammers lurking, as it is now a lot more work to do so.

Previously, a scammer could just make a new username and start again. Now they will have to be a member for at least 30-days and have made 100 posts. The 30-day restriction was added to help prevent blatant spamming to 100 posts to gain access.

2. Poker screennames now available in Profile

As an additional precaution to help ward off scammers, members can now optionally enter their screennames for various cardrooms by going to Profile -> Edit Profile. Currently, members can fill out their usernames for the following rooms: PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker, Ultimate Bet, PartyPoker, and CakePoker.

In addition to simply being a useful optional addition to the profile, it will help to build trust for trades in the Money Transfers forum.

3. Video Posting Enabled

Finally, a treat for you guys. Videos can now be directly posted within posts! Adding a video is as simple as can be: simply paste the URL of the video in the post, and it will automatically be displayed as a playable video.

maybe you could embed it so when someone joins they have to read it, something about no begging or asking for money unless its a trade, and like in big bold letters THIS WILL BE A BAN...idk ive been seeing it like once everyday kind of annoying
