PFO $300 Contest
April 21st - May 21st

That's right! We're holding a little PFO contest with $300 in prize money. Here's your opportunity to both help build the community as well as have a chance at winning some cash.

The cash is coming straight out of my own pocket which is why it's not the greatest number. However, the contest is completely free to enter and there is nothing silly required such as having to register at poker rooms.

Top Posts (Standings)

(Minimum of 15 referrals required during contest timeframe)

Top Posts

The top posters will be measured by the highest number of posts made during the contest. It is imperitive to understand that an abundance of poor, low-quality posts, or spamming is in no way tolerated. Members who purposely make poor posts in order to boost their post count will be removed from the contest at the administrator's descretion. Please be sure to read the forum rules.

In the case of a tie, the winnings will be split. In order to be eligible, a minimum of 350 posts must be made within the timeframe of the contest.

To get a rough idea of where you stand in terms of post count, you can go here. An exact post count of the contest's timeframe will be calculated at the end of the contest by the administrator for accuracy.

Top Referrals

For each member you refer to the site that registers, you'll receive credit for referring. View this link to see the top referrers and to get the your referral URL. Only refer quality members; that is, do not attempt to get your friends to sign up just to rack up points. Signing up friends is fine as long as you think they'd be a good contribution to the site.

Requirements: Referrers must be legitimate referred members and must genuinely be interested in the site and not incentivized in any way. In addition, 25% of your referrals must make at least 1 non-spammed post each.


Contest Rules:

By entering this contest, you agree or understand:

• The contest will run from April 21st, 2007 at 12:00 AM and end on May 21st, 2007 at 3:00 PM Pacific time.
• Payment will be made via PayPal. We may be able to pay via other methods such as through PokerStars, Neteller, or another e-wallet if possible, but expect to be paid via PayPal.
• That you have read and agreed to the forum rules before participating on the forum.
• In the case of a vote to determine a winner, members on the ballot must not ask friends or referred members to vote due to conflict of interest, nor incentivize anybody to vote for them.
• The administrator may revoke points from members or disqulify members due to behavioral, disciplinary, or due to other issues at his discretion.

FAQ:

How am I supposed to compete with existing members who already have hundreds or thousands of posts or referrals?

Only posts or referrals that are made during the contest timeframe will be counted. Please rest assured that the contest administrator can view such statistics.

This is a great idea to get PFO a thriving forum again - it's been quiet of late.

It would be good though if there was a way of discounting crappy posts from people's quantities - the last thing we want is like 2+2 with loads of

"standard"
"fold pre-flop" etc.

I also think people with high post counts from the previous month should be allowed to count there previous posts towards this months total - davidab has kept the hand analysis forum alive lately.
