PF.org members,
Your beloved or hated moderator is back from his poker hiatus and will be done speaking in the third person as of... now.
Over the last month, I was dealing with finals and the break-up with my live in girlfriend and only playing live tournaments with a little side action at local casinos to keep myself fresh for my Vegas trip. I just got back from a very good trip from Vegas early this morning where I profitted over $3.5K playing poker in a week, but due to immaturity and the need to let loose spent a little over $2K. ($50 steaks, $7 Jack n' Coke's, $10 cab rides, $20 lap dances, and $100 massages really can add up.).
But I had a lot of fun and the break from 40+ hours a week of poker was a very necessary one and to do that I needed to stay away from online poker and online forums because as we all know, the computer is very addictive. I was bowling more tournaments this last month to provide for myself and only added $1K from my Vegas trip to my roll, the other $500 will go to Christmas fund.
I'd love to go into a lot more detail on my trip, but I'd go on forever and "What Happens in Vegas Stays in Vegas" is not a clever slogan. I've learned that they're words of wisdom.
For all of you No-Limit players planning a Vegas trip to play cards, play Mirage during the week and Bellagio on the weekend. VERY JUICY!!!!
It's good to be back. I still have another month until school starts up again, so you'll be seeing a ton of me here and on Poker Stars. I'm done with Full Tilt. I got my bonus. I hate the site. The games are too tight. I played a ton of hours to get my bonus over the last 3 months and INCLUDING the bonus, I only made $400. That site's a waste of time.

What did you play in Vegas? Were there any pink chip NL games going?
$50 steaks? Hell you can get a prime rib dinner and tip for under $20. Excuse my ignornance but Jack N Coke is coke and whiskey right?“There's no sense in being precise when you don't even know what you're talking about.” - John von Neumann

Good to see ya back alex. Very nice profit for the Vegas trip...never realized a lap dance was that cheap in Sin City.

Red,
I have yet to check out PokerLedger. I did get the email and I will check it out this week.
Bonch,
I played 2/5 NL ($200 min./$500 max) at Mirage and 10/20 ($1K mandatory buy in) at Bellagio. I would've made more, but I lost a huge pot on Saturday night that I will post in the Bad Beats section. That session was only a $200 loss so it could've been worse, but it could been A LOT better if I win that pot.
And yes, Jack Daniels is whiskey.
Shade,
Yes, the dances everywhere are only $20 but that very deceiving. It's as deceiving as the SB in poker. You can't have just three.
Travel is pretty cheap with airline fares so low and very accommodating, clean, pleasant, well served, cheap off-Strip hotels. I stayed at Gold Coast, which should be re-named to Old Coast. It's $35 a night during the week and $90 a night on the weekends. They had a $100 1/2 NL game that was nice to play for a couple of hours on Monday night as I was watching the Packer/Ram MNF game in which I had $300 on Green Bay and the Over.
Tilt,
Bring a lot on money with you. Luckily, I had the money to lose, but I proved that it's dangerous for a 21 to have over 3K travel through his pockets in that city. It could've been worse, but I had a blast. From now on, I'll be more professional and disciplined in my indulgences when I go out there.

Yea 2/5 is almsot a pink chip game ^^ (2.5/5) Thats the only level of NL I would be able to play.. if i was old enough lol. What sort of comps did you get? Most of the time if you play for like 6 hours you can get a free room.

I got free passes and drink tickets for the club where she dances and I believe the pink chips are $1K. Everyone plays for 6 hours. I got a Bellagio card and I did log enough hours to get a few free buffets, but not enough for a room yet. The Bellagio buffet is well worth it. Some of the best food out there, but it's $15 each meal which is cheaper than the alternatives.
