Hi guys,
I am buying a new laptop for my business. Now that I have begun to kick ass at online poker I feel I need to upgrade my technology so I can go pro.
I'm fucking kidding! It is for my financial planning practice.
Anyway, I'm either getting a Sony VAIO or a Dell Lattitude. I know what components I need based on our technology platform with my broker-dealer. Would either of you have a preference of one or the other?
Also, I am purchasing a second flat pannel monitor for my office. I want to be able to run both my laptop screen and my flat pannel at the same time with a extended desktop feature. Do I need a docking station for the laptop to do this or can I just use wires and whatever software makes this happen?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. I need to order by Tuesday.

just get the Intel Duo chip. It is the same chip that is in the new Mac's. Best power/watt on the market.
The only difference between the Centrino Duo and the Core Duo is that the Centrino has Intel's Wi/Fi hardware, the CPU is the same. The Core Duo chip is dual core and can run two operating systems indepenantly. You can reboot one and work on the other OS. It is only 32-bit though. If you think you will want 64-bit computing wait about 3-4 months. The next generation will be 64-bit.
I am really excited about the 64-bit version.

What beavis said.. he knows CPU's....
I run mutiple montitors w/oi a docking port, just plug the thing into the video port, and right click on the desktop.
I can vouch for Dell and their support.Marm is back, maybe. Been off for 3 years. Rusty as Hell.
