Default What's with Dana White Paying his EE's @%^# All...

I dunno if any of you guys like MMA...other than the usual guys, but what the hell...a few guys which I won't get into have been released...such as Matt Lindland, Trigg, and a few other big names (esecially good fighters)..

Is it just me or is PRideFC not only the premier competition for not only MW - HW, but also now HLW with the addition of the LW GP?!?!

I thought Tito was more a soiled brat and ahole originally for stating he wanted more pay from Dana White and the UFC. Horn got paid $15,000 in that loss against Lidell- and possibly $60,000! If he won premier fights like this in PrideFC your winnings would be 6 figures . Compared to a guy like Fedor or Cro Cop in PFC that's a joke - and they wouldn't even fight for that kind of money!

Please add comments if you have links or any info involved with MMA in regard to comments surrounding releases of great fighters in the UFC please, I'd like to read whatever I can.

No wonder there will never be a Rampage/Ice Man rematch...Rampage wouldn't be paid enough. It'd be nice to see Rampage come over and spruce up the LHW division in UFC - right now it's gay.

Sorry to ramble, but crap like this is why I watch PrideFC,and why only the middleweight div in the UFC is worth watching!

Look around Coleman, Frye, Lawler, and the list could go on about the fighters that won't fight for peanuts anymore, and have moved onto much better events in Europe and Asia.

Eat nuts Dana - you shoulda stuck to teaching cardiobox you loser!

Why is it the only mma worth watching? I watch everything... UFC, Pride, IFC, cheap canadian ones, other crappy small ones, etc...

I don't really know what you're talking about but I love watching it on tv. I'm probly one of those people who just watch poker on TV and then think they know a lot about it. I remember one match where it was like 3 different choke holds until one guy finally tapped out. Infuckingsane.

It's the best b/c any fighter in any weight class - with the possibility of middleweight (possibly) they dominate regardless of the rules.

I watch UFC too, but have you seen the fight cards? unreal...there could be much better matchups if they could keep there fighters.

I watch Shooto, VT, and a lot of others- it's the best b/c the best fighters pound for pound fight their in all the fight classes that count.

    definetly good fighters but...

The UFC middleweight division is STACKED! they don't have the top top guys they are in Pride but they have 10-15 guys who are great fighters. Losing the above guys is ok because they aren't as exciting as some of the others and with their veteran status they command higher paydays.

I thought Tito was more a soiled brat and ahole originally for stating he wanted more pay from Dana White and the UFC. Horn got paid $15,000 in that loss against Lidell- and possibly $60,000! If they could fight in pride for 6 figures they would, unfortuneatly they aren't good enough to make 6 figures.Pride doesn't want aside from a few UFC guys but they are under contract. 15 to show 60 to win is a typical UFC contract. Their bottom payout is 4K to show 10K to win.

No wonder there will never be a Rampage/Ice Man rematch...Rampage wouldn't be paid enough. It'd be nice to see Rampage come over and spruce up the LHW division in UFC - right now it's gay.
The reason is not the payday, its who's orginization the fight would be in that is the issue. UFC wants it in the octagon, Pride wants it in the Ring each doing the promotion and making the big payday.

Look around Coleman, Frye, Lawler, and the list could go on about the fighters that won't fight for peanuts anymore, and have moved onto much better events in Europe and Asia.
Think of it like the Patriots having to get rid of Ty Law or some other good player because they feel they fill his shoes with a younger cheaper player. Martial Arts is the same thing and the UFC has ALWAYS kept fighters not only based on talent but marketability and excitement which is smart from a buisness standpoint.

I'd also like to add that my boy Jorge Rivera will be fighting in the upcoming UFC event on October 7th. Talked to him last night. This will be his 4th UFC fight and he really needs a win,

He beat David Louiseau who is no slouch

Had a fluke loss to Lee Murray who won't fight Jorge again

And lost in a throw down punch out brawl with Middleweight Champ Rich Franklin

He does have wins (outside of the UFC) over UFC veterans, Tim Sylvia, Mark Weir, and Travis Lutter. With a loss to Anderson Silva.

wow, wasnt expecting this sort of discussion in here when i signed up

anyway, heres the salary figs from the last UFC PPV.

    Code:
-Randy Couture: $225,000 ($150,000 for fighting, $75,000 win bonus)
-Jeremy Horn: $25,000 ($25,000 for fighting; win bonus would have been $25,000)
-Chuck Liddell: $160,000 ($80,000 for fighting; $80,000 win bonus)
-Matt Lindland: $30,000 ($15,000 for fighting; $15,000 win bonus)
-Tim Sylvia: $80,000 ($40,000 for fighting; $40,000 win bonus)
-Tra Telligman: $9,000 ($9,000 for fighting; win bonus would have been $9,000)
-Georges St. Pierre: $28,000 ($13,000 for fighting; $15,000 win bonus)
-Frank Trigg: $14,000 ($14,000 for fighting; win bonus would have been $14,000)
-Joe Doerksen: $5,000 ($5,000 for fighting; win bonus would have been $5,000)
-James Irvin: $6,000 ($3,000 for fighting, $3,000 win bonus)
-Travis Lutter: $4,000 ($4,000 for fighting; win bonus would have been $4,000)
-Brian Gassaway: $2,000 ($2,000 for fighting; win bonus would have been $2,000)
-Terry Martin: $2,000 ($2,000 for fighting; win bonus would have been $2,000
-Diego Sanchez: $24,000 ($12,000 for fighting; $12,000 win bonus)
-Mike Van Arsdale: $15,000 ($15,000 for fighting; win bonus would have been $15,000)
-Trevor Prangley: $6,000 ($3,000 for fighting, $3,000 win bonus)

    Total: $635,000
as someone above said, the UFC has a lot of talent around that weight limit (MW & WW) and can therefore afford to lose the 3 they have got rid of recently. to be honest, lindland was getting tiresome and trigg had showed without a doubt where his level was, so there was no point in extending his contract. also, the UFC are bringing in a few new guys and bringing back sherk (unless that was a dream or something) who is a similar but superior fighter to trigg.

finance-wise, i think they should be able to put together some bigger pay days within a couple of years. as far as i know, zuffa were still losing money on all PPVs until last year and the progress since then has been encouraging.

anyway, what was i on about? oh, yeah, lindland and trigg arent big losses, that was it and what can lindland expect anyway? he called out rogan after his fight then said that the UFC piss him off by putting him on the under card. the guy is was asking for it!

on a different but related issue, the UFC does need to sort out the pay for the lower level fighters as it wouldnt even cover their training expenses, which is quite frankly a disgrace.

    Wicked stuff guys...

    Friends with Jorge...cool. El Conquistador.

Yea, I was just steamed when I look at these talented guys dropping off. All the power to Pride when they pick em up, but youre right unless they have serious sponsors for supplements and such, they barely pay their training expenses...

And anything else you guys want!

im not sure pride should pick up trigg... maybe for bushido i guess, but they want to have the aura of having better fighters than the UFC so picking up another of their rejects (after Baroni) would probably not help that! as for lindland, im sure they will pick him up and it will be interesting
