Holis, I thought you had better taste...

I can see it now in the headlines:

"Spurs sooooo boring in regular season and playoffs - are forced to throw a decent parade to make up for lost time to diehard fans who fell asleep in their seats!"

I don't follow basketball (Whos this james guy anyways? ok JK!!! I'm from cleveland Jeesh!) but shouldnt we as poker players relish the spurs style? Slow and grinding, took their edges and exploited them when they could? they were never very fancy, they never had huge wins right? So why shouldnt their low variance season be an example? I really dont know too much about them, just what I've heard though... so........

    EDIT: Oh yeah, GO BROWNS!

Are they slow? This is a team that goes to a big man to muscle the ball to the basket. When he well covered or double teamed, 2 VERY fast guards can drive and put a move on a defender to make a highlight reel and if a double team is forced, they can kick out to Horry, Bowen, or Barry for three. Hardly a boring team. Anyone can get postered on either side of the ball by every Spurs on any given play.

The Wizards are boring. The Grizzlies are boring. The Nets are boring. The Pistons and the Spurs of '05 were very good teams to watch.

The NBA marketed very well to make the Pistons look like a dynasty that crumbled. They won ONE championship and went to the Finals the next year. They won't be there next year. They're the Angels of '02, the Marlins of '03, the Packers of '97(?), the Lightning of a year ago. A team that went on a great stretch for a couple of years. Stick a fork in 'em. They're done with being a championship caliber team.

WWF, was changed to WWE awhile ago, and no I don't watch that, I prefer to watch PrideFC or UFC or KOTC.

My wife is an avid basketball watcher, and her favorite team is the Kings...we have league pass and she watched (and I was forced to watch with her) almost every single game...
