    Default USA loses in womens soccer thing

    So, USA lost it's bid for the Womens Soccer thing. The odds on Japan (which is who I would have placed my money on if I had the chance) were 3/2. Help me with the math (I know it's simple, but my education is a bit muddled) is this a way of representing 5:1? How do I translate that into a dollar amount won. If I placed a $20.00 bet and what would I have won?

    3 ways one way, 2 the other?

    Is it 5 divided by 2 which is 2.5X the bet, so $40.50?
