He's gonna be a #4 receiver for 3rd downs and that OL is so tough in Denver that 4WR sets minus the TE can be very effective on all downs and stay deceptive enough to gain yardage on the ground and keep the screens alive.
The TD's are too unpredictable because we haven't seen and won't see until the season starts how they plan to use Rice.
But what would you say is a realistic amount of receptions for Rice this year and is that gonna be a number for him to take pride in right now?

I gave him 20-30, but that may be too generous.

I say under 10, and I'll go further and say he is retired by week 5.

I wouldn't say that he retires mid-season because after this year, he's probably gonna sign the 1-day contract with the 49er's and retire. He's said that he wants to retire a Niner and that's what the Niners have offered and Rice has no problem with that.
I'm saying he'll have his 3 TD's. Shanahan's gonna give Rice the oppurtunities to hit 200 TD's. Because of this, I'm saying that Rice has 24 catches max., but I think that it'll be closer to the 15-20 range.

I say 10-20. Maybe 1 TD.

36-40.
I'd guess 15 of those are in the Red Zone, and I'd say he gets 5-6 TD's this year.

I've gotta change my answer to 30-35. I can't realistically imagine Rice catching less than 2 per game in a Shanahan system. I'm putting his TD's at 4-5. That division's gonna be very interesting. I'm a big Jake Plummer fan and have been since college. They're gonna spread the ball more and that OL doesn't need a fullback in the backfield very much.

the guy flat out cannot get open anymore, we saw that last year. system or no system, he will be buried on the depth chart and as i said won't be there after week 5.

I voted 30-35 or bust. Rice doesn't have the speed anymore, but against the 3rd or 4th db or a linebacker he can get open more than a speedy youngster and he still has the hands. If he doesn't reach that it will be because of injury. At his age, any injury is going to take a signifigant amount of time to heal.

I havent been following Rice much, He's obviously lost his speed since hes pushing 60, but I assume he's still got the hands right? He can be a threat then on the quick short routes, 4-7 yard buttons and such. He'll be a major advantage in 3rd down and short and goal situations. I'm guessing 10-20 catches with 4-6 TD's. He'll be simialr to the Bus last year when he had like 0 ypr avg with like 4 TD's... No yards, but scores.
Marm is back, maybe. Been off for 3 years. Rusty as Hell.
