Was I the only person who found the media's coverage of the Israel-Russia game ridiculously inaccurate in the build up and patronising to Israel afterwards? Anyone would think Russia just lost to San Marino.

- Israel had already drawn away to Russia this campaign.

- England didn't win in Israel and Last World Cup qualifying campaign neither did eventual runners-up France.

-Israel failed to qualify for the last World Cup despite remaining unbeaten throughout the qualifying campaign.

-Russia are not exactly renowned for their away form.

If it wasn't for the fact that Israel could no longer qualify they would have been clear favourites in this match and they still had representing their country, their fans, their proud home record, their world ranking and possibly trying to impress watching premiership managers as motivation.
I think we should have shown them a little more respect than saying how good old Isreal pulled off a massive upset for England and all this crap.

in all honesty and with none of my normal bias whatsoever, the english media are constantly inaccurate in how they build up to soccer matches that involve england/have an impact on them in some way.

u forgot that they also held us to a draw out there so they're obv good
