Default Bonch's new goal: Chess or Backgammon?

I want to learn to play a new game but I'm not sure which one yet. I know the basic rules for each and thats it! Thoughts, comments, suggestions?

Chess a semi-simple game to learn, but at any level of competence you can hold your own against the general public.

I know theres a couple others here that can answer that question better though.

    I'm curious about backgammon myself.

Unfortunately, I answered your question, but I so wanted to put that you need a haircut. I do too btw.

I picked Backgammon, because the strategies are endless, and I think it is a tougher game to learn than chess, but I think you would be really good bonch.

Go with backgammon, it is infinetly faster to play than chess. While i love both games, I'm OK at chess and pretty solid at backgammon, 1 games of chess could take 4 hours.

you might want to look into learning Gin to.

Break away from the everyday...learn to play Go instead. Easy to learn, takes a lifetime to master. Involves all the strategy and foresight necessary to excel at chess, removes the random luck equation of a dice roll found in backgammon.

A good backgammon player can make a great play with any roll.
