All I see on the websites are a bunch of 6' 200lb white dudes with about 15%+ bodyfat. Not 6'5" 285lb monsters with sprinter speed.

They recently did a show on FSN about the impact of Ray Lewis hitting a normal person with no padding from the blindside. The results: if you ended up paralyzed you'd be lucky!

Comparing rugby players to NFL players is crazy. Yes they may be big, fast, strong guys to a normal person but not in the world of sports they're not that exceptional.

If they were that big and gifted they'd learn american football and make 5 million a year instead of maybe 6 figures at the most.

Well take for example a winger in rugby. Alot of them wouldn't make it in NFL cos they aren't quite fast enough and prob can't catch with one hand (or whatever you have to do in NFL). They don't necessarily need as much speed or those handling skills in rugby. And how often do they actually hit people at sprinting speed?

The games are totally different so we can't really judge how gifted they are, and I think your average rugby player wouldn't want to even play NFL (maybe for the same reason I don't like watching it, I find it pretty boring). In saying that, in an NFL game I watched last week those guys couldn't tackle for shit, they seemed to go for the big arrogant "see how hard i can hit him" rather than just taking the legs.

Obv I don't know exact weights but I wouldn't think there's much difference between sizes of players. I've watched a bit of NFL and they're not THAT big.

I think also rugby is alot different to other sports in that maybe the money doesn't matter as much to them. Obv they want to make a good living but they love the game (alot more than football (soccer) players), so the huge salaries probably aren't that much of an appeal.

EDIT: Check out Bryan Habana, I think he could cause some serious damage hitting someone at top speed.

Calling me English is almost worthy of a banning.

Nottingham is in England, but Dave isn't English. He's British though, you have two more guesses.
