Week 3 CFB - Looks decent
I'm trying something new for this week by getting my bets in before the line movements start going crazy. I'm favorite-heavy this week because for the most part, it's still far superior teams against far crappier teams.
So let's make some cash people!!
HAWAII -17.5 @ UNLV -- 1 Unit
Few things that made me jump all over this line: 1) Hawaii did NOT fly back to the island this week which is huge for them to have a full week on the mainland before their next game. 2) With Hawaii's OT scare, and UNLV sticking close to Wisconsin well into the 4th quarter, everyone is going to be looking at UNLV. Bad idea. Brennan needs to continue putting up ridiculous stats for a Heisman chase, and surely Hawaii is going to want to stay in the top 25. 3) It's freaking Brennan.
USC -10 @ NEBRASKA -- 2 Units
Quite frankly, if USC DOESN'T blow out Nebraska here they can kiss the #1 seed goodbye. Florida, LSU, Oklahoma, and West Virginia are all sitting there waiting for the Trojans to fall. I do not believe they are the best team in the country but I see their only loss coming to Cal. From top to bottom (on paper) USC is stacked at every position and Nebraska just doesn't have the firepower to keep up. Not to mention, USC's defense is going to surprise a lot of people this year, IMO.
LOUISVILLE -6.5 @ KENTUCKY -- 1 Unit
This game is going to be a freaking blow-out in all senses of the word. Both teams are averaging over 50 points, and letting up over 400 yards in their contests. And that has been to no team quite like each other. Brohm versus Woodson is a battle for the ages but on a whole, Kentucky's offense can't match up to that of the Cardinals. With Douglas, Urrutia, Barnidge, and Allen...Louisville is probably going to hit 45-50 with ease. On top of that, if Brohm wants that Heisman and wants that National Championship game...this game is crucial.
TENNESSEE @ FLORIDA -8 -- 2 Units
Let's put it this way: Tebow > Ainge. Florida is looking for consideration at the #1 spot and without running over another ranked team, it's not going to happen. If they simply sneak by, it won't get the job done. LSU and Oklahoma are going to make sure of that. However, if Florida can do what Cal did, Florida will be top 2 at the end of the weekend, IMO. Florida outmaches Tenn in EVERY category on BOTH sides of the ball. Not to mention that it's in Gainesville, this SHOULD be a slaughtering. I was willing to take this line at anything under 13 so getting 8 is a great value.
