First of all, Phil Pfister was so awesome. You all should have seen him work those
Fingal Fingers and the Car Walk. He just DOMINATED them. He came from something like 3rd or 4th after a couple of events and finished first in the last ones. He was so effing determined, and every time he kicked Mariusz Pudzianowski's butt, he just let out this ROAR that was incredible.
At the
Atlas Stones, Pfister was a HALF a point behind, going up against the 3 time champion Mariusz Pudzianowski. Pudzianowski was ahead at first, but Pfister was catching up. On the last stone they were neck and neck at the start, lifting the stone to the platform...
And Pudzianowski missed the hole.
It would have been a photo finish, but I think that Pfister would have won anyway.
I noticed two things, though: First, there were FOUR guys, out of TEN, from Poland. Secondly, the two guys from USA (1st and, I believe, 3rd) both seemed to be very challenging about the fact that they were, in fact, from the US (when they hand them say their names and countries). I guess that's what comes from your country not holding a WSM title in over two decades.
