Colts vs. Ravens
Wow, where do I start?
On Saturday January 13, 2007, I am going to the biggest football game in Baltimore ever.
That's right, I'm taking the long weekend off of school, heading back home, and going to the game with my dad and a couple of my buddies from high school.
This game is important in several ways:
1) THIS IS GONNA BE A HELL OF A GAME
#1 Defense vs. #1 Offense, Peyton Manning vs. Ray Lewis. If you took away any other factors, this would still be an incredible game. These are too great football teams going head to head on Saturday.
2) BALTIMORE RAVEN PASSION
The stadium will be rocking, the city will be juiced up. Baltimore is and always will be a football town. The home field advantage in Baltimore is impossible to ignore. Since 2001, the Ravens have the highest home winning percentage in the NFL. The Broncos are second in the league with a slightly lower percentage at home since the 01 season.
In addition, even Peyton Manning said and I quote, "Baltimore is the hardest place for me to play."
3) THE BIG ONE, THE COLTS COME HOME
For 24 years, the Baltimore Colts were a sports dynasty. They appeared in two Super Bowls, winning one in 1971. More importantly, they won four NFL Championship games before there was a Super Bowl.
The Colts played in the "Greatest Game EverPlayed", against the Giants in the 1958 NFl World Championship. The Colts won in the first overtime game in the history of football, high school, college, or professional.
Despite the great moments, the Colts were inexplicably moved in the middle of the night in 1984. Baltimore only heard of this news once the Colts were already in Indiana.
Then, Baltimore went through its most dreadful period, without a football team for 11 years.
THE IRSAY FAMILY BROKE BALTIMORE'S HEART BUT ON SATURDAY WE GET OUR REVENGE
OLD WOUNDS ARE REOPENED WHEN THE COLTS COME BACK TO BALTIMORE
THIS WILL BE AS TO THIS POINT THE MOST IMPORTANT FOOTBALL GAME OF MY LIFE
