Beckham is going to raise the consciousness of the game BIG TIME here in the States. (I've played for over 25 years here in Colorado so I'll try to control my passion for the game here on a poker forum.)

I can see some people already on this post that would normally not have a clue about the game at least knowing who the guy is...which is a big win! The game in the U.S. WILL grow even better because of Beckham coming here. Soccer is already the #1 youth sport in the country...so as those kids are adults...it will raise the rank. (Unless they all start playing too much poker and we all become Johnny Chan's...because I know Hold 'Em is HUGE in middle school and above.)
