Marm and Alex seem to have some interest in the sport, which is 2 more people than I know anywhere else. So let's do it.
Mainly, I wanted to bring up that the Ducks having Niedermayer and Pronger is...well, there are no words. As a Sharks fan, this is not good. Considering the Sharks were thought by many to be one of the frontrunners for him. I didn't think they would get him, but I didn't think he would be going to a division rival either.
Seems like The Oil got a decent return considering the circumstances. Lupul is a good young forward and Smid the prospect is a 6'4" defenseman who is considered one of the top prospects in the game and will be playing in Edmonton next year. Draft picks probably won't be too high, though.
And good luck to Stevie Y. I hate the Red Wings, but Yzerman is one of my favorite individual players.

How are my Avs doing in the offseason. Hell how did they do this last season? I wasn't really paying attention anymore since the strike.

The Avs are pretty much done. Blake left to LA a couple days ago and they traded Tanguay to Calgary at the draft in a bad deal for Leopold from Calgary. They'll be competitive, but not contenders for anything.

IDIOTS! They let Tanguay go in a trade, then Blake? WTF?? Sakic's back is gonna be tired from carrying the team.

The Avs are losing faith is Abeischer and I was shocked at the Tanguay move. Blake wants to retire in LA, probably. I could understand that. But Sakic's days are numbered, Hejduk's inconsistent, and they can't depend on their defenseman to put the puck on net all the time especially without Blake. I don't know what the hell they're doing.
Stevie Y's definitely one of the good guys in a league that, in my opinion, has the most douchebags. If the NBA and NHL traded skin colors and music intrests and the players lived in the states, we'd hear a lot more about NHL players being bad people than NBA players. Hate the Wings, but like Pujols, hard to had the Y.
I know my guy JR's getting back in shape. I hope that he can revive his career. He had a lot of personal problems with the Kings organization, marital issues, alcohol, and such during the strike and the season, not to mention the added pressure of being the face of the NHLPA during the strike. I hope he goes somewhere he can be happy and win a cup. Imagine a healthy JR on San Jose, Carolina, or Dallas' Checking Line. That'd be so sick. I heard an interview on The Tony Bruno Show archives where he was very "I've made more money that I could imagine. I'm only 36 years old. I want a cup." and we all know that when JR speaks, he means it.
The Ducks look tough. You win championships at the blue line and between the pipes, so they look like the team to beat in the West. No one else out West is gonna be very aggressive outside of LA (who's gonna waste money) and Calgary. You can never count out Detroit. They didn't hand over all that dough to Babcock to milk Shanahan's last years and rebuild.
Out East, I don't care who won the cup. Someone's gonna have to do something REALLY big to knock off the Senators or Hasek's gonna half to get really hurt. The Devils need a goal scorer, the Rangers need defense, and Buffalo was a fluke. What else is new? The Canes and the Senators are unstoppable out East on paper.

Well, Aebischer was traded at the deadline last season for Theodore from Montreal.
And Hasek is not going to be back with Ottawa. He wore out his welcome there.
And NHL players are egotistical professional athletes just like the rest of professional athletes. But a bunch of guys from farms in Canada are not bigger d-bags than the guys in the NBA. Some have their issues, of course."They swore they wanted character guys, but then they signed a DUI guy and a guy sleeping with a reporter and that's fine, but I got character issues?"

Only 364 more days til hockey tryouts. Come on didn't the season just end? Let hockey go the way of US soccer.
Bean181818: some guy came up just grabbed my hand and starting massaging it, since it wasn't you, i told him to fuck off
xcrunman02: yeah only I can do that, i don't need some gook trying to get with my life partner
Bean181818: i've been faithful

Not much of a hockey fan, but I have followed the Wings a bit for the last decade. Yzerman is/was awesome in too many ways to describe. He will be missed, but always loved in Hockeytown. The 'C' will never look the same again on a Wing's jersey.

Free agency just started and there has been a ton of news. If you're not interested, you won't be hurting my feelings by not participating.

I meant to say that the Avs lost faith, not losing fath. My bad.
There are no people as sick in the head in the NBA like Marty McSorley, Tie Domi, Todd Bertuzzi, and Todd Bertuzzi. Did I mention Todd Bertuzzi? If NHL players lived in the states 24/7/365, the arrest records would cloud Sportscenter every offseason. Tattoes and listening to hip-hop aren't character flaws.
NBA players get arrested at lower rates than MLB, NFL, and American NHL players. NBA players aren't the ones beating women, driving drunk, and getting into bar room brawls on a nightly basis. The very occasional marijuana possesion comes up with players under 25 and that's about it. That's a fact.
