bet more on the turn as you have the temp nuts, tho I doubt set9 will fold there.

you basically suicide on the river, which I don't quite understand. Basically you made the 'ouch' move here. With that river card, you, at best, can check-call/check-fold. Why are you shoving? What do you beat that called your Turn bet? You still have 18k(12BB). Kinda sucks, but when you play this passive aggressive style, shoving the 2nd/3rd/... best hand is -EV.

This looks like a low stake tourney, which can be donkish. But, when one gets deep, there is more poker and less donky, so you may want to give villains credit for 'having sumtin'. Regardless, real quick, let's analyze the hand:

U start with the short/effective stack of ~17-18BB. 7 handed, everyone is kinda sorta close, Big stacks have ~60BB, the rest are 18-40BB... (at 700/1400 175)!!!

Do you want to win the tourney, or just nit your way up a few more pay jumps? Are you already ITM, or bubble? This is VERY important if one plays tourney.

    Preflop:

U SB with QTc, u get 3 limpers and 2 folds, blech. This a clear fold, regardless of strategy/style. You have a purty looking sucker hand, and are as 'out of position(OOP)' as one can be. Just fold. Sure ur getting 10-11/1(assuming BB checks behind), but ur OOP with QTsooted! When u complete and BB raises to say 3k, what then? Just fold, u get the button next hand, play more poker...

BTW, the dynamic of this hand is very different, iffin u big stack(50+BB)...

Now let's assume one actually wants to play this hand, blech. Then you have to raise here. With 20BB short stack, at 700/1400 175, with 3 limpers, one has no choice with QTs. If u can't fold here, you must raise. Shoving is a real bad idea, so one needs to raise enuff that one can fold to almost any reraise. OOP with marginal hand is best played with fewer players. U really want everyone to fold to ur raise, without pot committing yourself, so 3.5-4k, maybe 5k, no 4250 max! lol.

Let's assume 4.25k raise, pp9 calls, all else fold.

    flop

    7c 8 J rainbow!

With 4 other villains that flop barely hits u. HU, that is not bad. When u cbet 6.75k, the pp9 will fold, and u pick up a high risk, what, 16k pot.

Well, being in the SB, not much you could have done differently, except on a short table I would have bet preflop. 9's will still call you.
That way you're the raiser and you could possibly go into the flop 2-3 handed.

This sets you up for a continuation bet, on a gutshot with an overcard I say go for it. I doubt 9's are calling a half pot sized bet there since his set completes a 1 card straight.

Even if he does call, it's still scary for him to call a bet on the turn since you bet the flop, you could very well have a 10 in your hand.

It also tells you that he DOES have something if he calls the flop and turn. and it's something he limped with. He might even reraise the turn and you can reraise all in = he folds, (if he's decent).

Now, the way you played it. It was okay, little bit weak. The river all in was terrible, you have to think about the information you just got from his insta-call on the turn, he HAS a hand, and the board just paired, so try and get to showdown as cheaply as possible. You basically didn't get your money in until you were beat.

    3 Major problems,
    1. You were too passive pre and post flop. (Can't blame you, position-wise)
    2. You got greedy with a good hand.
    3. You didn't consider what your opponent had when he called your turn bet.

LOL what? You'd raise a pot not all-in that has a 3rd of your stack in the middle??? Awful.

Turn bet isn't too big at all, I'd make it smaller. b/f the river now it's paired. Beter to b/f than be left with a decision for your whole stack when you check and he puts you allin. Example: my betting would go turn= 3k, river 4-6k/fold. nothing shoves on you that you're beating.
