Default Any thought on this early play

I'm playing in the early rounds of and sng and am dealy pocket queens
mr tight is to my left and has to act first

he raises I reraise a third player calls.

Mr tight (and i mean uber tight) reraises all in

I figure he s on AA KK or AK to do that at this stage (blinds are 15/30 we're all on more or less 1500) so am at best a slight fifty fifty favourite to win so not wanting to risk it all I fold.

The third player calls the all in and they both turn over AK- board comes - no a or k the queens would have held.

I was annoyed but still think I made the right decision- any thoughts

Sounds like a good fold given your reads.

incidentally i ended up coming second and the play got so tight in the end the extra chips picked up in those early rounds really wouldn t have made much difference

Sorry for the 2day necro post, but I just reread it.

To be honest, I probably would have called, but your fold definitely isn't a bad play. My question is how can you know how tight he is in the early rounds of an SnG? Have you pokertracked him in other games, or are you basing your reads off of 10 minutes of play? It's hard to distinguish uber-tight from card-dead in the early rounds.

it doesnt matter what u have the guy pegged as, imo its a cardinal sin to get it all in pf in the first level with anything less than KK.

if the guy is a nit, ur behind. if the guy is a complete idiot, his time will come.

I'd played against him before and remembered his game (and had some notes on him - have just discovered sharkscope/pokertracker etc )

maybe a lil more detail. did he open with a min raise 2x 3x? I feel your frustration, but very discipline fold on your part, its hard to really peg a narrow strat on someone so early in a sng but i agree that its prolly not a good idea to play stacks at 15-30 lvl with less than AA KK....i prolly fold on a good day, snap call and kick myself later on a bad day...i play bad though. kill me
