Third hand of the final table, I had just won 2 hands in a row before this so it looked like I was fairly loose (even though it was mostly just running hot cards). I expected his first re-raise.... but the all-in made me go into the think tank... It just felt like he was stealing... and I visualized him having A-rag. So I called.... good read? or am I losing money here most of the time calling this?

1.) Good job going with your read win or lose, good or bad read. That's the only way your reads get better.
2.) You need to move all in or fold here PF. We talked about this in another thread that the 3rd raise is all in. You did face to pussy raises, but you're not going anywhere, so why not increase your folding equity with what's either a bad mid or big lo pair. (Give it a name. It's weak.)

although the outcome favoured I think you had a bit more time. Two chip leaders taking coins flips against each other with a few more orbits left could be costly longterm. 88 is a bit marginal... most mid pairs beat you badly.
'But it seems you're late..so the blind attack is merited but.... I hate calling all-ins with mid pairs.. unless Im much lower M than this. I'd be all-in preflop methinks..
I guess this guy is very aggressive.. When you make that first raise at this point against this sort of player - you are likely to fire off stuff..See me playing $10/$20NL like it was play money

Fold PF. There's no reason to gamble here with your stack, imho.
