Here's one for you. I think I made a good play here.
Main villain had been very active and agressive, lots of pots and steals. SB in this instance was also fairly active, but quite passive. Not one for 3-betting or pre-flop raising.
I'm happy to see the button raise because he's quite active as I said. I think at this point I'm going to shove in a significant raise (putting the message across that I'm happy to be committed i.e. I'm strong), but then the SB limp calls which isn't the best. Now it's a shove for me. Not a fold, obviously. Could've called... but I think I had a good shot at taking the pot preflop with a shove, which would be better than calling and having to negotiate things after the flop.PokerStars Game #48240822208: Tournament #301853745, $1.00+$0.25+$0.15 USD Hold'em No Limit - Level III (25/50) - 2010/08/16 19:05:53 WET [2010/08/16 14:05:53 ET]

Regardless, as played I think my read was good and the outcome was unlucky. But perhaps I could've played it better?

You were a 7:3 favorite. I would bet my house given 7:3 odds.

He only needs 39.4% equity to make this call (1125/2850(Total Pot)). He can easily call with a good portion of his raising range, but being an aggressive player in a KO tourney he is going to call with almost everything.
Very easy shove, sorry you lost. Just keep at it man, and don't give up.Last edited by KnightofNarg; 08-17-2010 at 03:32 AM.
