about 1500 players left, cant remember the blind levels etc. im in the top 100 with my chip stack, im going quite well dominating my table, and using my stack pretty well.
player limps utg +1, im in middle position, look down at suited connectors, 9c 8c, i call. didnt raise as i though the limper would call anyway, as he seemed, a bit erratic and alot of limp calling.
sb calls and bb checks.
flop comes 9s 2s 8s. blinds check. utg+1 limper bets like 3/4 the pot, at this point he has half the stack i do. i flat call.
my reasoning for the call is. if i raise, and one of the blinds shove i havent lost alot a chips. and if any of them has the As or the Ks the arent folding anyway and if they have a flush, they will call, so i didnt think raising would gain anymore information than if i just called, and it would keep the pot small.
blinds fold
turn is a blank, like a random diamond or something. not sure of the exact figures, but say the pot is 30k, the other guy shoves for 29k, after debating for a while i call. he turns over Ac 4s. and rivers his flush. a 4 high flush.
i dont think i played the hand badly,do you think i could have played it any other way? sorry i dont have the right figures in terms of bet size etc.
raise pre flop? raise the flop? fold on the turn and wait for a better spot?

You got him all-in when you were a big favourite, why would you want to play it differently?

id have raised in the flop. Theres a flush and straight draw there. I'd be happy winning the pot there, rather than slow play and get beat.

I think it is fine as played. Just unlucky.

I think I would have folded when they shoved. I'd have been working on the assumption that either they'd hit a flush on the flop and were slow playing it or they had a flush draw (as they did), which reduces you to a 4 outer to get your full house (8% likely?) whereas with his draw he had 9 outs (any remaining spade) with one card to come (18%?) so although you were in the lead I think I would have shat myself with the all-in.

Raise the flop because, as you say, As/Ks isn't folding and you're in a four-way pot.
