Blinds are 2k-4k, two tables left, six handed at each table. I'm on the button, gets folded around to me. I have 17k in chips left, sb has 18k and bb has 24k in chips. Its folded around to me, I look down and have As2s and a pretty tight image. Small blind is a good player on the tighter side, Big blind is an average player. Whats the right play? After a few responses I will tell you what I did and the results.

I guess for me any ace will do .... raise 12k, since if I let the blinds come I might have worse than A2 ... imo
lets see a few other ppls ideas 1st before you reveal wot u did ... a poll would've been a way to go on this... :-)

pushing would most likely get the same results. for 12k your going to get pushed on or folded from 17K and unless 24K isnt feeling invested.

Pushing is your only play here. Not even close. Your going to be pushing about over 50% of hands here.

So I pushed my stack. SB instafolded and bb thought for a minute. He asks me if I am making a move. I flip over the ace of spades and he calls instantly. He flips over K7o and proceeds to hit a king on the river....

You only have two moves....shove or limp. In a shorthanded game, against the blinds you have to shove. If you limp, they may catch some garbage pair. Raising anything less than all in wouldn't make sense since you only have 4BB left. If you get called you just have to hope you hand holds up.

You have 4.25 BB and you get a suited ace on the button with no action before you. And you have a tight image. Why is there any doubt? Shoving here should be as easy as calling a preflop all-in with AA heads-up.
And why the hell are you showing him a card? I'm beyond amazed that he still called knowing he had the worst hand. Wow.For great rakeback options and lots of member freerolls and promotions, sign up at Rakebrain!

I showed him a card hoping that would push him over the hump to fold. I knew if I got some more chips I could out play him, but I just wanted chips and figured that would get the desired effect. I have no idea why he would make that call either. Oh well.

No, my stack got so low because either 3-4 hands prior I was crippled when my AK lost to AQ for 80% of my stack. That was the next hand I had to shove. I don't usually let my stack get like that if I can help it at all.
