Ive been watching various stakes HUSNG's for a while now trying to see what leaks I have in this type of tourney. And it seems like more people are relying on luck than anything to win these. Which has resulted in me not learning much. Other than people are willing to push/call with anything HU.

So is there a limit to what a decent hand would be in a HU game all in preflop? Ive always thought that pushing/calling all in with an AJ or less/small pair was less than optimal. Maybe I play to tight on these. What does everyone else think?

I don't think you're playing it too tight. All in with marginal stuff will only be a small favourite, like 60/40, and not even every time. So I think it would probably be such a small advantage over such a long time, it's not worth the insane variance you would get. On the other hand though, if you're both down to about 15BB like in your example, then you can't wait around for a premium if the guy's shoving like mad.

Thing is calling only the top 10-15% against a guy who is shoving 13bbs with ATC is bad. A5o plays quite well against the shoving range of top 60% I guess, I'd take 60-40 spots for 1100$ as everytime you do you win 90$ once rake is taken. Not a bad hourly...

Thats what was weird about it..most of the raises were double the bb majority of the time I was watching this hu tourney. There was 2 or 3 hands they raised 3 bb's. Rarely did they make it past the flop unless they were checking or betting small. Then all of a sudden they pushed/called all in. I was expecting to see a strong hand from atleast one of them.
