Default What would you have done on this hand?

    PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, 1.15 Tournament, 50/100 Blinds 10 Ante (6 handed) - Poker-Stars Hand Converter from HandHistoryConverter.com

    MP (t2140)
    CO (t5400)
    Button (t1335)
    SB (t3705)
    BB (t1250)
    Hero (UTG) (t1170)

    Hero's M: 5.57

Preflop: Hero is UTG with 5, 4
Hero bets t300, 3 folds, SB calls t250, 1 fold

    Flop: (t760) 9, 10, 6 (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets t200, SB calls t200

    Turn: (t1160) Q (2 players)
    SB bets t500, Hero folds

    Total pot: t1160

So my logic behind raising was that I had been playing pretty conservatively and I wanted to bluff and steal the blinds/antes because I was still relatively short stacked. What i'd like to know is if I should've played this hand to begin with, and if I should've called the SB's raise on the turn.

First, don't play that hand UTG, or I guess if you want to do so, just shove it. You have 11 bb's. 'Course, the reason you don't want to shove 5-4 is the reason you don't want to play it.

    1. What is the point of your flop bet? What better hand is folding to that bet?
    2. On the turn you're getting 3-1 on a call and probably have 9 outs. Given that you'll be left with 5bb's if you fold and are the bb the next hand, I'd take the slightly improper odds. But this is why if you're going to bet the flop, you're sticking it all in on the flop. At least that increases your fold equity.

I don't like 54 in any position but in early position it really stinks. to play that flop oop I think you check the flop and shove any bet he makes. I would not call his turn bet.
