...those considerations are fine but I'm talking about the actual hand above that's heads up and your stack is deep compared to blinds. I'm cbetting about 100% of my range on that flop vs. bb

Yeah, there's 60BBs you want to get in the pot here, betting is the best way.

From a tournament perspective I can agree with checking the flop. You are in a great position to win this pot, but you want to try to extract the most chips you can. On the turn is where I believe you made your first mistake. After the BB bets, you should have raised to protect your set. My thinking is this...if this guy has A/rag, he thinks he is pretty good because he may be thinking that you don't have a K because you checked the flop. In this case you should have raised to define your hand and possibly get him to fold. If this guy picked up a flush draw (as he did), you want to raise on the turn to make him think about calling off chips on a draw. After the flush hit, you called because you had already ruled out that he did not have a flush draw on the turn.

The one thing I noticed about your posts is your reasoning, and how you came to your conclusions about what your opponent had. You were thinking about what YOU would do in that situation and not what YOUR OPPONENT would do. I fall into this trap myself sometimes when I am trying to put someone on a hand. You have to try to think about how your opponent is thinking and not how you would play the hand. The reason I say that is because your opponent will NOT be thinking the same as you. Try to make your decision based on your opponents previous play. Everyone has a different style of play, and it is up to you to determine what you are up against and make your decisions that way. Good luck and hope this helped.

Yeah, my stack was pretty deep. I'm geared up to flop a big set now, I think I'd do better!

Yeah I was thinking about what I'd do, as I wasn't sure what he'd do. If I remember rightly I might have been transferred to that table not too long before. I'd been shipped around a bit that tournament.

JavaScript 10s (or Qs JavaScript) fits his play doesn't it? Good enough to call a steal attempt, won't bet at that flop in case you had AK or KJ. You didn't consider that hand? If he's assuming on the turn that you have no K then he's semi-bluffing thinking that queens or any spade are good for him on the river unless you already have the Qs or you have AK and you slow-played the flop. So I agree that you should have raised him on the turn to discourage the draw.
