You may have lost with trip aces but when most of the money went in you had one pair with no kicker. Overbetting the pot with such a marginal hand seems foolish.

Way too big of a bet on the flop. I'd probably c/f that flop, but if I were to bet, it would be around 90-120 chips.

As played, I'm c/f turn and river.

You have 40+ BBs, Do you really want to go broke with with A2?

Yeah... I did go in with my guns blazing, didn't I.

The reason I shoved hard was because I was falling below the average chip count for the tournament, but that now seems like a foolish figure to follow. Should I consider that figure at all? Or do I just want to make sure I'm comfortably above the BB?

    Triple aces ITT

As a default I think I prefer to start with a check on the flop because we're not really getting called by much worse. I'd probably be betting something like 125 if I were to bet to allow Kx to call at least one street, definitely nothing like 300 though!

We have a massive draw on the turn so I like betting here but again, please bet less.

River plays itself although you might as well have stuck those chips in on the turn if you're calling the 2000 I guess.

Falling below the average chip stack for the tournament is not a problem. I almost never even look at the average stack. Now if you fall way below the average stack on the table, then you might have to worry.

The important number is M, which is the ratio of your stack to the sum of the blinds and antes. So if your at a 9 player table with 100/200/25 blinds and antes, and you have a stack of 5250, then your M is 10. As your M gets low, you gotta pick a spot and put your chips in the middle before you blind off.

    Cheers for the advice, guys.

I like the advice I get here, it's good stuff.
