UTG had limp/folded preflop from UTG+1 in the only previous hand we'd had together. SB wasn't a concern for me as he'd been a weak limp/folder over a longer period. I figure there's enough in the pot already to warrant a play at it even though I'm only ever being called by hands that I flip with or that crush me.

Preflop: Hero is BB with,
UTG calls t3000, 5 folds, SB calls t1500, Hero???
Is it worth just shoving here based on the fact that UTG had limped and folded in the only previous hand we played together? Normally I'd take it easy and check as UTG limpers are often super strong.

I don't think i use this hand to make a play. as you said, you're only getting called by flips/better. if you had mid-high suited connectors then I like it...Ax where x=mid-high I like it...this hand, imo, no.
lower PP are hands were I like to see cheap flops for set value...if you're concidering getting it it, then I would wait for the flop and if it's a safe looking flop then go for it. if not, muck the hand and you haven't invested anything. you're stack isn't to the point where you need to be flipping for no reason for potentially 1/3 your stack.Trons

9k in the pot, 18200 to put UTG all in. You need about 40% equity to make this shove, I think with FE it's pretty close here, but what you loose in dropping to a 40k stack is more than you gain by becoming a 80k stack here to be taking a 0EV situation.
As far as I know 55 fairs better or even with a loose ish calling range than 9Ts,JTs,QJs. And it deffinately fairs better than A8.
This limp is AK a lot, but also hands he views as too good to fold too bad to raise. SCs, PPs, suited As and Ks.
I check and hope to hit.
