To my mind, limping AK with 30bb's could be acceptable (depending on table dynamics...say, a 40 vpip player with a high propensity to 3bet acting afterward). Of course, that's partially what's wrong with these hand discussions. Too little information. With particular reads, I'd be happy to check pre and check/fold the flop with the A10. But we have no information as far as reads go (and by reads I DO NOT mean stats...though those would be helpful too). Without additional information, it's super standard, but that doesn't mean it was the best play, only that it is the best play in the information vacuum as presented.

Broken record, but stats aren't reads...better than nothing but not yet a read. I guess with stats like that, though, even if you had a well-formulated read on MP2 limping his big hands, you figure to be ahead of his range. Standard.
