The first one was a difficult one. He basically wanted me to put half my stack in when there was a paired board and a flush draw. I admit that I chickened out, but the only other options were to either call, in which case the turn could have been an even scarier card, and he would have put me all in anyway, or for me to reraise all in. I admit I didn't play this hand very well, but considering he just limped in against my raise after playing tight and then made such a massive bet let me to believe he had A8, or had hit the flop quite hard some other way (pocket 9s?). So yes, I didn't do well out of it but I do believe I would have been out of the tournament there and then had I not folded.

Yes, I admit I should have 3bet this one. I think I was waiting to open and someone did it for me, so I just hit call rather than thinking about it. My mistake.

Probably, but I did have two overcards and a flush draw, which I thought was enough. I should definitely have checked, either way.

It would be enough, if you actually had a flush draw... but the flop was a rainbow, so you didn't - unless you're talking about the back door flush. Two overs and a backdoor flush aren't enough to B/C.

Sorry, misread the text, and yes you're right. Backdoor flush draw, eww.
I agree, I don't know what I was thinking then. I should have c/f that flop.

By the way, thanks everyone for analysing this for me. All very useful stuff.
