Standard preflop play short stacked in the CO with QQ?? Should I have seen the flop and if overcard came just tossed to a bet? Roughly 11.5x BB left in my stack. Just got done showing AA and won. My image is tight aggressive.. only 3bet I've made is with AA and KK earlier.

Yeah, seriously. Wish I got QQ in a tournament, like, ever... so don't you dare fold or just call here.
No, you don't flat call with QQ/KK. Not without a great read and deep stacks... these are hands that hate to see a flop. Get it all in pre. Only way I'd call is if I was in the BB, and I knew the guy well and was really sure his range was like TT+ AQs+ AK, and that he's 100% guaranteed to be shoving all those hands if checked to, no matter what the flop brings. Then maybe you're more +EV to just call pre-flop and call his all-in as long as there's no A on the flop. I'm rarely that confident of my read though. There's nothing worse than flatting with QQ preflop, getting a T-high flop, checking to the guy and having him check back and seeing an A or possible flush on the turn.
Here, even if you're sure he's putting you all-in on the flop, you can't just call because you have the button and blinds behind you, and you REALLY don't want to be seeing a flop three or four ways with QQ.Last edited by Xopods; 03-10-2009 at 02:45 PM.

This question is lol.
OP, try to justify a call or fold here.

No.. OP is wondering how others would have played it because I don't MTT past 180 player SNGs but I know its not usually a good thing to be all in this early but my stack size in MY EYES calls for a shove.
Thanks tho as always MJ <3

I meant - there is absolutely no reason why this is anything over than a shove, it's really basic stuff. 180 or 4000 players makes fuck-all difference here. You're still so so far from the money.

way too much to just call, maybe if your really deep stacked and in the blinds but like pods said you wouldnt want to just call and have the btn or someone in blinds call as well, i woulda shoved. i like to see a thread about QQ though..i feel as though most of the time i don't know what is the best way to play them
