Is he slow playing me, or did he hit a ten and trying his luck? He's got a queen, wtf who checks to the rivers with top pair and no draw.s Did I play this correctly?

depending on how UTG plays, im prone to folding this once he only limps......u can hit ur A on the flop and still be way behind.....his call pf doesnt tell u anything either.

once u raise pf, id bet a little less on the flop as ur now almost committing urself to the pot....on the turn, ur stack is now 765 but the pot is now 1500.

in saying all that, id almost have to fire a small bet on the river after he only checks to me 3 times.

Without a read on the player is hard to say.

He limps in from UTG which can mean a few different things. He may want action so he isn't raising to chase anyone out hoping for a button or CO raise or he has a marginal hand and wants to see a cheap flop.

Then he calls a raise. Its from the button so he may be calling because of his read on you, or because he has a good hand. So before betting that flop you need to have a read on him. The flop shows a straight and flush draw. You could of accomplished the same thing with a 1/2, 3/4 pot bet on the flop without risking so many chips in case of a check raise.

Other than the pot sized bet on the flop I like the check check because if he has a hand and you bet the river he'll probably raise you and if he has nothing he folds. So the bet really is more risk than reward. You dont put yourself in a position to make a decision for a lot of your chips if he check raises that way.
