Why wouldn't you bet a dry side pot with the nuts?
-

thats what my thoughts were, but after getting berated at the table for making the bet, it made me doubt my play. i would think that they felt if i hadn't made the bet it would of been a better chance to eliminate someone from the tourny with the check down. i do tend to check down when it gets close to the bubble to try and eliminate players and make the bet on the river when i'm sure of the nuts. i felt it was way too early in the tourny to think that way and it would be best to isolate and or get someone to call down with a flush draw.f*cking it up for everyone else since 1969.

Meh, I bet side pots whenever I think I have the best hand in a tourney.
Bluffing dry sidepots is retarded but if you think you've got your opponent (the non-all-in-one) beaten then why not bet?

anyone berating you for making that bet is dumb. you really should have bet the flop though.
1st hand is fine i guess, but i think i'd just lead turn. obv getting it in is great on a board like that, just unlucky he rivered you
