I don't believe PS has $5 9 man turbo sngs

that's why I said previously that there would be plenty of information available at this point in the tourney

if we raise then it leaves us vunerable and we only see 3 cards vs 5...if we shove we commit and see all 5 cards ftw

...that didn't answer the question at all

why do you think villain's range for calling a shove is wider than his range for calling a raise

I would say it depends on your table image. If you have shown yourself to be tight, raising to 450 would be a good move. The SB and BB are at the point where they can only play with a hand that is good enough to shove and even then, you might be in the lead or at least 50/50.

what are we actually hoping to achieve by raising here?

if we're called, we have no idea where we're at but we can be pretty confident we're behind.

if we're raised by button, we most likely have to fold.

if we're raised by either of blinds, we're compelled to call.

nobody is gonna raise us with hands that we're happy to risk ~half our fairly healthy stack against.

the risk of either of the above happening outweighs the benefits of winning 225chips. as someone else also said, at this point in a non-turbo, you should have a better idea which of the above is gonna happen but without reads, im folding this.

we've already concluded that raising sucks, it's mostly a shoving vs. folding discussion

pushing is almost the exact same scenario as raising.

unless the 3 behind us are twats, none of them are gonna be calling us unless they have us beat so why risk our stack chasing at most 3 outs for 225 chips?
