Default Am I going broke here?

I know someone will ask why not reraise so I will answer. I try to mix up my play by playing my bighands a little sneaky from time to time. Most of the time I reraise but in this case I was trying to get the pot after the flop hoping that the original raiser would cont bet his late position preflop raise. Just happened to have rockets lol. Hard not to go broke. Any thoughts?

don't think you're "being sneaky", you're just playing the hand wrong and losing value.

no idea how to play a donkament but i'd raise to 1k preflop and snapcall when he shoves.

cooler he had aces.

lol.

When you play it his way, you get value from a shitload of other hands. Just unlucky this time you ran into aces.

Your opponent is completely and utterly retarded. I actually think he played it as badly as you.

Haha sorry dude I can see how you could read it that way. I did not mean to imply that you are retarded, honestly! You only made one mistake and that was calling pre flop.

IMO you should NEVER EVER EVER EVER NEVER NEVER EVER EVER NEVER EVER EVER (at micro-small stakes) call with KK/AA PF. You are losing value if you are calling. Make people pay to bust your KK or AA and if you run into AA its just unlucky. I forgot the percentage of times that KK runs into AA but it is small enough to not warrant a fold. You try and pick the times they have AA and you will start to lose value when you accidently fold to QQ and JJ being overplayed.

I understand that but this is a tournament guys not a cash game and in a tournament you need to get value out of your hands and for a tight player like me reraising there to a guy that has anything but AA is going to know I have a big hand. It is all in Harrington on holdem book. You have got to mix up your play. If you always raise big and reraise big with AA KK you are read like a book to the table. In this hand the fellow that made the bunk raise from late position looks like a steal. Well it just so happened he had rockets but it does not appear that way. I would say most of the time it is a steal with a marginal at best hand. If I go over the top with a huge reraise I get no value (if he does not have Aces) because he will most likely fold. In this case I made a bad read. I figured a measly try to steal the blinds so the call is made to do 2 things. Induce a cont bet (Bluff), or hope he hits a little of his hand and then get paid because I didnt do the standard reraise with the big hand. I am tight everyone at the table knows it. You dont get enough hands in a tournament so when you get them you need to get value. I agree with all of you in cash but in a tournament you need to get chips and being creative is the best way to do it. Its all in harrington on holdem. Raise/reraise with big hands 75% of the time the other 25% call. Oh well it didnt work out this time but this play of mine has made me big cash in tournaments before. Oh well I totally respect all the imput I was just trying to strike up a convo and see some different imputs. I dont really mind my play because it IS SNEAKY. Thats how you get paid when you are labeled as a tight player. GL fellas
