    STT, anyone shoving preflop this early?

    Poker Stars
    No Limit Holdem Tournament
    Blinds: t15/t30
    8 players
    Converter

    Stack sizes:
    UTG: t1970
    Hero: t1170
    MP1: t2830
    MP2: t1330
    CO: t2225
    Button: t1235
    SB: t1320
    BB: t1420

    Pre-flop: (8 players) Hero is UTG+1 with
    UTG folds, Hero raises to t120, MP1 calls t120 (pot was t165), 4 folds, BB raises to t210, Hero calls t90 (pot was t465), MP1 calls t90 (pot was t555).

    Flop: (t645, 3 players)
    BB checks, Hero is all-in t960, MP1 calls t960 (pot was t1605), BB folds.

    Turn: (t2565, 1 player + 1 all-in - Main pot: t2565)


    River: (t2565, 1 player + 1 all-in - Main pot: t2565)

    I think with MP1's stack, he would've called a PF shove anyway. Just unlucky here

    ya unlucky. I shove ak preflop only in low limit sngs. You'll be amazed sometimes what people spitecall you with in the first 2 levels of a sng. In the first 2 levels with AK, I limp, reshove. I don't try it in big buyins because you usually only get called by AA, KK. I'll play my ak passively if no one raises after i limp and I flop an Ace or a king. AK is the most over rated hand in the first 2 levels of a sng. Usually if you hit your hand you will only get action from a hand that beats ya. But ya limp reshove for 50bbs, I would say is profitable in 10 dollar sngs and lower.

    Well I think that flop was your only choice action. Unless you wanted to check/fold TPTK. If you bet 1/2 pot You only have 600 chips left. This was really theonly option. And I think AQ at these levels is calling enough to make it +EV ...now I am going ot go look at the results and see that he had KK. I really haven't looked, I just know how you have been running.
