PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t30 (8 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

UTG (t1335)
UTG+1 (t930)
MP1 (t2795)
MP2 (t1425)
CO (t2310)

Preflop: Hero is BB with A, T
.
3 folds, MP2 calls t30, 2 folds, SB raises to t90, Hero calls t60, MP2 calls t60.
This is the same SB as the hand I posted a bit ago. By now, I've got a read that he's very aggro and not afraid to bluff, but he usually gives up by the river. I was planning on raising this until he raised. I decided to call for pot control and a little deception.
Flop: (t270) 9, J
, 3
(3 players)
SB bets t120, Hero calls t120, MP2 folds.
Calling this bet is probably a spew, but I'm not convinced the J paired him. I'm a little worried about MP2, but I float SB's bet anyway because I can pick up an ace, a FD, or a SD on the turn. I still have plenty of chips left if I'm wrong. I'm definitely folding if MP2 raises.
Turn: (t510) 7(2 players)
SB bets t90, Hero calls t90.
This bet convinced me he was bluffing. The bet is smaller than his flop bet. Looks like he doesn't want to risk too many chips. Plus, I picked up a nut flush draw and a gutshot. Easy call here.
River: (t690) 3(2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets t400, SB calls t400.
I like this river. I can represent a 3 in my hand now. But since I only have A high, I don't want to spew too many chips on this bluff. He had t1000 left so I figure a t400 bet would be too much for him to call unless he hit something on the board. I was disappointed that he called.
So is this pure donkery or a play that could be made at appropriate times?
Final Pot: t1490

I'm folding this pf no need to get into situations like this with marginal hands with mp2 making you oop with ace high.
As played: fold flop
As played: raise the turn and fold to a reraise, check river.

I fold PF 'cos you're OOP and it's too early to get involved with weak aces.

This came from someone playing in a $25+$2.50 MTT, so it's gotta be true.

your calling, not raising suggest that you may have a str8 draw, either KQ to a gutter (unlikely) or open ended Q-10. You missed the draw, so you bet out strong, he called. That's the only reason I see why the bluff failed because if you did have the J, I think you would of raised his flop bet.
What did he have ? KJ, AJ, mid pocket pair ?
