First hand so table full of unknowns. I hate my turn bet in retrospect, and you'll see why...
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t20 (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)
Button (t1500)
SB (t1500)
Hero (t1500)
UTG (t1500)
UTG+1 (t1500)
MP1 (t1500)
MP2 (t1500)
MP3 (t1500)
CO (t1500)
Preflop: Hero is BB with Q, 6
.
UTG calls t20, 4 folds, CO calls t20, Button calls t20, SB completes, Hero checks.
Flop: (t100) Q, 6
, 2
(5 players)
SB bets t60, Hero raises to t220, UTG calls t220, CO folds, Button folds, SB folds.
I made a pot size raise here for both value and information. Given that this is a donkament, a flush draw is probably calling this while a queen and any had that beats me is probably reraising (After all, top pair is da nutz). UTG just calls, so I immediately put him on a flush draw. SB folds and says, "f--- you" in chat. I lol'd.
Turn: (t600) Q(2 players)
Hero bets t250, UTG calls t250.
The most beautiful turn card in the world. I got the nut boat and a flush chaser. I want to keep him interested so I make a small bet. For some reason I forgot that flush donkeys chase against the odds. I probably could have gotten a t500 bet called here, but I didn't want him to fold. Maybe I'm the donkey on this hand.
River: (t1100) 7(2 players)
OK, flush draw missed. What size bet can I make here and get called?
Final Pot: t1100
See why I hate my turn bet? Def lost value.

Not a lot you can do unless he's willing to bluff with a busted FD then, I don't think there's any amount you could have bet that he would have called with KcJc or whatever.

you want to be able to shove your shit in on this river, which is the real reason you need to bet bigger on the turn. any Q is going broke to you here if you size your bets appropriately. if you bet 400 on the turn instead of 250, the pot will be ~1400 on the river and you will have 860 left in your stack which makes for an easy shove

? You give him an awful lot of credit. Granted, I have no clue what he had, but I'd bet it's a lot worse than that. But yeah, you are right. He's not calling any bet with a busted FD. But I do think he calls with more hands than he bluffs with.

is likely nearer the mark.
