Default HOLY SHIT, what are the odds??

I was playing a local game, NLHE 20$ buy in. There were 8 players and it was my first night to an invite only game. During 3 games, I was dealt pocket 8s and flopped a set 5 different times. I started to feel really bad, because not only did I do it 5 times, but all 5 times, I was the dealer, so I decided to mention it out loud in case someone had already noticed it. Everyone laughed it off, but I really felt guilty although I did nothing wrong. If any math wiz could do those odds for me, I'm rather curious. Thanks in advance.

well flopping trips with a pocket pair is about an 11% chance, to do that 5 times in a ROW, would be 1/9^5, or 1/59049 or .001%. pretty remarkable if that is what ur claiming LOL, u cheater u

It wasn't in a row, but over a period of 6 hours, but the same pocket pair (always 8s) and I was the dealer. I was really concerned that they would think I was cheating, but no one said too much. I'll see if I get invited back, seeing as how I won 2 of the 3 games that we all bought in for.

Right, it is about 1/8 that you have pocket pair and flop a set.
It is not very easy to calculate "odds" in this case as you might even get better things like AA + A. And you need to specify how many hands are played over this 6 hr period (and how many times you are the dealer).
Just don't worry about it and accept your good luck. It won't come very often.
