I had him on a flush draw on the flop due to how quickly he called. I checked the turn to see what he'd do and he shoved all his chips in. Was the fold the correct play?

You're getting 2.5:1 and you can't give credit for a flush every time. Checking here shows you're afraid and gives him the chance to shove at you (he'll do this with 88) I put him all in on the turn, dont worry about timing tells.
