Should I have layed this down?

No, I don't think so. I figure that, at this point, you are at best a coinflip, but you're pretty down on chips, the short stack at the table, even. You also will have about 8BBs left if you fold this.
No, I think you needed to call this or risk having to go all in with something like A2o because you're so down on chips."You can ask the sky to summon the wind, but the sky will summon what wind it will."

I hate these spots, AQ is such a dangerous hand in re raised pots.
Do you have any reads? What do you think his range is?
I don't think a fold or a call are too bad
If we fold, our M is 8 which is low but not desperate so if the SB is an absolute rock then I think it's a fold.
If we call I think there's a fair chance we're flipping but 1.5:1 doesn't seem enough given the threat of being dominated or crushed by QQ+ or AK.
Against a donk I call but I think overall a fold is a better move because we aren't desperate for chips yet and the odds don't seem quite good enough for me.
Disclaimer: That said, I would still call

I just switched tables so I didn't have any observed reads. Since he was out of position (SB) and pushed, I put him either on a medium pocket pair or air (restealing)... I honestly debated folding, but AQ offsuit is so borderline and I'd been card dead for the last few levels and was about to become <10bb (blinds going up next hand).
If I had more chips, it would be an easy laydown. Less chips an easy call... But everything was "just right" to make me sit and think...

This is a close spot, but the fact that the blinds are going up next hand makes it a call.
