If we start with
![]()
our odds of:
flopping two pair are 2.1%
flopping trips are 1.4%
How about a straight draw, such as
![]()
![]()
Probability for that is 3.7%. Note that a straight draw is still a draw, not a made hand!
The combined probability for any of the above flops we like: 7% or 14:1 against

What about flopping a wheel or 6 high straight?

About 0.3% each, but that is already included in the numbers above. So it should read: "Straight draw or better"

Quick calculation but I think odds of flopping any particular straight would be:
12/50 x 8/49 x 4/48 = 384/117600 = 0.0033 or about 1 in 300.
As theres 2 way we can flop we flop a straight once every 150 times.

are you counting trips too in your 14:1 assessment? since i have two low cards and feel that if it trips up, i have a hand because i'm not believing someone else has the low case card. how about 2 pairs?
now, if i do hit, more than likely i'm stacking someone. lowest stack at the hand would of been 740. 1060/15= 49.33 so i would be making 49bb on a call of 15 chips with 15 invested with direct pot odds of 9:1.
maybe thats too loose for some people. don't play like me. hand over your small blind to the bb. i'm sure the bb appreciates the free chips every time. don't take any chances and play only the best cards. AA, KK, AK and see how many times they get cracked.f*cking it up for everyone else since 1969.

I think it's a very bad assumption that you'll always stack someone.
LOL at you talking down to people who fold their SB sensibly

Epic's post was a good example of how the opposite is true.
And yes, I'm counting trips and two pair. I posted 3 numbers you only have to add them up.
flopping two p 2.1%
flopping trips 1.4%
flopping sd or made straight 3.7%
The combined probability for any of the above: 7% or 14:1 againstLast edited by OrionPro; 06-06-2007 at 05:08 AM.

This same concept should apply for hands like q/(2-6) or j/(2-6)
These hands have no real straight potential but here a q has the potential to be good but in an unraised multiway pot you are just asking for trouble by seeing the flop.
