Quicky > 1/3 way into a 40$ tourny I get 10 10 in the BB. A player across the table raises a normal preflop 3x ish and I called.
So I am stuck on what I did. The flop was all smaller than my tens, I believe two suits, no strait flopped. i checked, he bet alot, i called. Another small card. I wish i could remember exactly, but it didnt set off any big red flags.
I guess I am stuck on this because I cant beleive I folded after a larger bet on the turn. I can only say I really thought I was up against a larger pair. But, I couldnt imagine a better flop for a pair of tens.
Any comments would be great.

It's a perfect board to lead out on. He's making a standard preflop raise, only 1/17 times he has pockets. An out of position pot sized bet lets him know his big unpaired cards are no good and when he calls it lets you reevaluate the turn. If the turn is another blank you can fire out again, if he has floated you with Ax it'll get dumped, if you're up against a big pair or a set he'll let it be known and you're basically done with the hand.
By betting out on the flop it's cost you the same amount to see the turn, and a lot of the time you'll take it down right away.

We need some more info, stack sizes, blinds, number of people at the table, number left in the tournament, when the bubble is etc.
For Free Money, Rakeback and some 6x Ongame bonuses, I recommend PokerSource.
I recommend Cardrunners for superb poker coaching. It was honestly the single biggest improvement in my game signing up there! Sign-up fee might seem steep, but it pays itself back within weeks.

Well, right or wrong, I give you the exact numbers you asked for. I can say that it was in the first half of the tournament, blinds were not high. I ended up folding alot of money away on this hand, but it really felt like I was up against a wall.I guess I'm looking to hear if the lay-down could have been acceptable in a situation like this.
I only question it because of the board having no overs and no flush/straits after fourth street.

You should've tooken control of the betting and raised the flop bet, see how commited he was to his hand. Remember, calling is the weakest play in poker.

As I said before we really can't give you proper advice without stack sizes, blinds and a little more info about the tournament.
But assuming you have a decent stack in relation to the blinds and are a while from the bubble, I would raise the flop to find out where we stand and get out to any significant action after that. For Free Money, Rakeback and some 6x Ongame bonuses, I recommend PokerSource.
